Through his work with Centex Technologies, Abdul’s IT audit experience includes risk assessment and project management skills with proficiency in data analytics, experience performing special investigations, fraud and forensic auditing assignments, knowledge of auditing ERP conversions and consolidations and outsourcing of the IT infrastructure, experience leading and managing all phases of IT and internal auditing processes from auditing scope and plan to report, exceptional understanding of business processes and risks, management and execution of multiple simultaneous audit assignments, and the ability to partner and integrate effectively with operational, finance and IT personnel.
Since 2002, Abdul has been an adjunct faculty member of the Computer Information Technology and Systems - Distance Learning Department & Continuing Education Department of Central Texas College. He has developed computer courses for the Central Texas College Continuing Education Department, and he has written three books: one on Microsoft Outlook, published by Central Texas College; Intro to WWW Marketing, published by Abbott Press; and Stay Safe! A Basic Guide to Information Technology Security, also published by Abbott Press. Abdul is also a current adjunct faculty member of the Texas A&M University - Central Texas Computer Information Systems Department.
Abdul has a bachelor’s degree in Computer Technology and a master’s degree in Information Systems. In addition to his degrees, Abdul has earned multiple advanced credentials, including Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, Certified Ethical Hacker, Certified Fraud Examiner, Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control, Certified Internal Controls Auditor, Certified Internet Marketer, Certified Anti-Terrorism Specialist, Texas Licensed – Private Investigator, FBI Ingrafard Member, Certified Project Manager E-Business, Certified E-Commerce Consultant and CompTIA Network+, and Security+.
Abdul has used his experience working with technology gurus, business owners, and more to speak at conferences around the country. He has been a frequent keynote speaker, moderator, and panelist at leading international technology conferences, and he has given speeches to thousands of students at colleges and universities.
Abdul is actively involved in his community as a member of the Exchange Club, former chairman of Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Texas corporate board, chairman of the Killeen Chamber of Commerce, a board member of Central Texas College Foundation, a board member of the Killeen Independent School District Education Foundation, chair of Technology Committee – Career Center of Killeen Independent School District, and a board member of the Texas A&M University – Central Texas Foundation.
